Questions & answers
Short answers, in the order people ask them.
01
The basics
What this is, and what it costs.
What is Horizon Runway?
Horizon Runway carries your income, bills, and plans forward so you can see your daily balances months ahead — before you decide. How does Horizon Runway make money?
Plus subscriptions, and nothing else. No ads, no commission for pointing you at a credit card or a loan. If you never pay, the forecast still works — that isn't a trial. How is this different from a budgeting app?
We project your balance. Horizon Runway reads the pattern you get paid on — 24/48, Kelly, Panama, three twelves — and names the tightest day before your next check.Other apps forecast balances too. Why this one?
Because the rotation is the whole thing. A rotating schedule is usually a hand-entered list of dates you re-enter when the pattern rolls; here you name it once. If your pay lands the same day every month, another tool will serve you fine.Is Horizon Runway free?
The forecast is free — daily balance, lowest point, and "can I afford this," with no account and no card. Plus ($5 a month or $48 a year) adds your account on every device, a copy held for you, the Sunday brief, and household tagging. See pricing. Is the forecast a guess?
Not by us. It's arithmetic — your income, your bills, your dates, added up day by day. Same numbers in, same answer out. It's still a forecast: it can only be as right as the dates and numbers you give it.Which regions does Horizon Runway support?
United States (USD), Canada (CAD), and the Eurozone (EUR). Your currency carries through setup, with common income, bills, and plans for each. Plus billing is US-only for now; the forecast stays free everywhere else.
02
Your money
Where it lives, and what we never do with it.
What can Horizon Runway actually do with my money?
Nothing. There's no bank login, so Horizon Runway can't move money, hold money, or reach an account. You enter what you already know, and it does the math.Where does my financial information live?
On your device by default. Cloud sync is optional — one encrypted copy, deletable from Settings any time. We never sell your data.Does Horizon Runway connect to my bank?
Not today. You already know when you get paid and what's due, so you enter recurring items once and tap your balance to refresh it.How do my balances stay accurate?
Tap the balances row at the top of any tab, type the numbers from your bank, and the forecast resettles around them. Horizon Runway flags numbers more than a day old so a big decision never runs on stale math.
03
What it does
The questions your own life will ask.
Can it tell me if I can afford something?
Yes. Type in what you're thinking of buying and you'll see what your balance looks like afterward — including the lowest it drops, and the day that happens — before you spend a dollar. What if my pay changes week to week?
That's exactly who Horizon Runway was built for. Shift work, tips, commission, self-employment — it keeps your real pattern of good weeks and lean weeks instead of flattening it into an average that's never true. How it handles rotating schedules. What if my income is aid, a job, and help from family?
That forecasts cleanly. A disbursement lands as a lump sum on the date you name, your job pays on its own rhythm, and family help can be as occasional as it really is. The tight week in the middle shows up early. Can two people forecast together?
Two incomes, yes — one login. Each income keeps its own rhythm, shared costs like rent stay shared instead of double-counted, and you tag anything as yours, theirs, or shared. A second sign-in doesn't exist yet. Tagging comes with Plus. Can I plan toward a savings goal?
Yes. Give it a name, a target, and a savings pot. Horizon Runway uses your planned transfers to show when you could reach it. Change the target or transfer amount and the date updates. Can I try it without my real numbers?
Yes, with no invite and no account. Pick the rhythm that sounds like you and Horizon Runway loads a full forecast from a whole sample life — a student, a nurse on three-twelves, a server on tips, a steady salary. How far ahead does it look?
A daily balance up to a year ahead: 30 days for this month's decision, 90 for a plan, 365 for the pace you're on.
04
Where it stops
What a forecast can't know, said plainly.
What does my forecast represent?
A dated projection of your balances if what you've entered happens as entered — income in, bills and habits out, transfers between accounts. It is not a bank balance, a promise, or financial advice. What can a forecast not know?
Money you haven't entered, a bill that changes, a delayed deposit, a bank hold, a purchase that hasn't happened. Refreshing balances keeps the picture useful, but your bank is the source of truth before you act.Can I take my forecast with me?
Yes. Save a copy from Settings any time. Your forecast is a plain file, so nothing you've entered is locked inside the app.Why does my lowest point sometimes show a range?
Because banks post on their own clock. When several items land on one day, Horizon Runway re-runs the forecast under an unkind order — money out early, money in late — and shows a range instead of false precision.
Still deciding? How the forecast is built.
